How to Quit BET99: Self-Exclude From Sportsbook and Casino

Chains and a padlock locking out BET99 and other gambling apps: how to self-exclude from BET99

To quit BET99, log in and go to Account Settings → Deactivate Account, choose how long to self-exclude, and press Save. You're logged out right away and the exclusion starts. According to BET99, once it's active they can't reverse it "under any circumstances, even if activated by mistake," until the end date passes.

When I quit gambling, I self-excluded from every casino and betting site I had access to, for as long as each one allowed. It isn't a perfect fix, and there are workarounds. But it made gambling harder, and that was a big step forward for me.

How to self-exclude from BET99, step by step

  1. Withdraw your balance first. Do it now, all of it, and don't place "one last bet" with it. BET99's help centre has a separate article on withdrawing funds after a self-exclusion if you've already excluded.
  2. Log in and open Account Settings → Deactivate Account.
  3. Select the longest time period offered. A short break just means a date circled on the calendar.
  4. Press Save. You'll be logged out and the exclusion begins immediately.
  5. Can't find it? BET99 customer support can activate the self-exclusion for you. Just ask.
  6. Delete the app and turn off notifications.

Don't let the name throw you. "Deactivate Account" sounds like closing an account, but on BET99 it's where the self-exclusion lives.

Block every regulated site at once

  • Ontario: BetGuard blocks every regulated Ontario site with one registration, for up to 5 years.
  • Alberta: one registration blocks every licensed site.
  • Elsewhere in Canada: your provincial lottery corporation runs its own self-exclusion program. The helpline below can point you to it.

Block it everywhere: how to block gambling sites on your phone and computer, and how to block gambling payments at your bank.

  • Every account you have. Search your email for sign-up and promo messages to find sites you've forgotten, and self-exclude from each one.
  • Offshore and crypto casinos. Provincial programs can't block them. Exclude on each site directly.

Block the workarounds

  • Blocking software. GamCare lists several tools, including BetBlocker (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and Fire OS) and Gamban. Install one on every device.
  • Your bank. Ask your bank about blocking gambling transactions on your cards.
  • Your feeds. Mute sportsbook accounts. Promotions peak around big games.
  • Someone you trust. Tell one person what you've done.

If it still doesn't feel like enough

Self-exclusion kept me out of the casinos, but for a year and a half it didn't quiet my head. What finally did was filling that time with something else: here's how chess helped me quit gambling.
