How to Quit bet365: Self-Exclude From Sportsbook and Casino

To quit bet365, log in and open the Account Menu → Gaming Controls → Self-Exclusion, then choose the longest period. On bet365's US sites, options run from 6 months to 5 years, or indefinite. bet365 says that during an exclusion "it will not be possible to re-open your account for any reason", though you can still log in to withdraw your balance.

How to self-exclude from bet365, step by step

1. Withdraw your balance. bet365 lets you withdraw during an exclusion, but do it now so there's nothing left to bet with.
2. Open Gaming Controls. Log in, open the Account Menu and go to Gaming Controls → Self-Exclusion. Menu names can change by country and state; if you can't find it, search bet365's help center for "self-exclusion."
3. Choose the longest period. Indefinite or permanent, where your location offers it. A short break just means a date circled on the calendar.
4. Clean up after. bet365's own advice is to delete its apps, turn off its notifications and unfollow its social accounts. Do all three.
5. Then go wider. Join your state or province's program (below), so every licensed sportsbook locks you out, not just bet365.

Block every licensed sportsbook at once

Excluding from one app leaves every other app one download away. Most places where bet365 is licensed run a program that covers all licensed operators:

Don't stop at bet365

Block it everywhere: how to block gambling sites on your phone and computer, and how to block gambling payments at your bank.

• Every account you have. Search your email for sign-up and promo messages to find sites you've forgotten, and self-exclude from each one.
• Physical casinos. Provinces and states run self-exclusion programs for land-based casinos too.

Block the workarounds

• Blocking software. GamCare lists several tools, including BetBlocker (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and Fire OS) and Gamban. Install one on every device.
• Your bank. Ask your bank about blocking gambling transactions on your cards.
• Your feeds. Mute sportsbook accounts and turn off betting app notifications. Promotions peak around big games.
• Someone you trust. Tell one person what you've done.
