Stake Promo Code: What It Actually Costs You

Chains and a padlock locking out online casinos: Stake Promo Code: What It Actually Costs You

You searched for a Stake promo code. There isn't one on this page, but not for the reason you think...

I'm Andy, a former gambling addict. From 18 to my mid-20s I built up roughly $100,000 of gambling debt. I've also worked in marketing for over a decade, so I know exactly what that code in the search results is for. Nobody pays me if you sign up. My mission is to fight back against the gambling industry by shining a light on the practices they use to capture new customers.

What a Stake promo code actually is

A promo code is a tracking tag. When you type it in, it tells Stake which affiliate sent you, so that affiliate gets paid. The bonus attached to it is the wrapping paper.

Most casino review sites are paid on revenue share: a cut, often 25 to 50%, of what the people they send in lose. For as long as those players keep playing (StatsDrone, Track360).

Read that again. The person handing you the code earns more the more you lose. Not once. Every month you keep playing. That's why so many results for this search end in a big button and a code. It isn't a review. It's a sales funnel with a coupon taped to it.

What the bonus really costs you

A bonus is not free money. It comes with a wagering requirement: an amount you have to bet before you can withdraw anything tied to the bonus.

Made-up example, not the actual terms at Stake: Say a casino offers a $100 bonus with a 40x wagering requirement. You have to bet $4,000 before you can withdraw it. If the games keep about 4% of what you bet on average, that's about $160 in expected losses to unlock $100. And that's only the average. Plenty of people lose the bonus and their deposit long before they get there.

The bonus is only the first hook. Stake runs a VIP and rakeback system. "You're getting money back on every bet" sounds like a perk. To an addict, it's a leash: another reason to keep playing to the next tier. Rakeback is a small slice of what you've already lost, handed back so you keep going.

Crypto makes it easier to keep going. A balance in coins doesn't hurt the way a bank statement does. Deposits are fast. There's no card on file to cancel and no bank to call.

What you should know about Stake before you sign up

  • It's offshore. Stake.com is run by Medium Rare N.V., a company incorporated in Curaçao, under a Curaçao licence (Wikipedia). According to reporting by Follow the Money, Curaçao licensed it even though regulators had open questions about who really owned and controlled the company (Curaçao Chronicle).
  • Canada: As of October 31, 2026, Stake.com isn't licensed in Ontario. In Alberta, a separate site, Stake.ca, has been licensed by the AGLC since October 2026 (Deadspin). Everywhere else in Canada, Stake.com is an offshore casino with no provincial licence.
  • UK and Australia: Stake gave up its UK licence in early 2025, and it has no licence in any Australian jurisdiction (SBC News).
  • The US gets Stake.us instead, a "sweepstakes" casino facing class actions in multiple states alleging it's illegal gambling in disguise. Those are allegations, not rulings (Public Gaming, Front Office Sports).
  • Even Drake said he had withdrawal trouble. In August 2025 he said Stake had blocked four of his withdrawal attempts (CasinoBeats).
  • Self-exclusion is mostly on you. Ontario's BetGuard covers regulated sites, not offshore ones, so you have to exclude on Stake directly. Stake.us is a separate account.

If you're about to sign up anyway

I'm not going to lecture you. I've been where you might be right now: tab open, code copied, telling yourself it's fine. So just a few questions. Answer them honestly, only to yourself.

  • Is this money you'd be fine never seeing again?
  • Are you trying to win back something you already lost?
  • Would you tell the people closest to you that you're doing this tonight?
  • Have you said "just this once" before?

If any of those landed, that's not a judgement. It's information. Here's what actually helps:

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is there a Stake promo code?

Not here, and there never will be. The codes on other sites are affiliate tracking tags: they tell Stake who sent you so that person gets paid. Pawn of God has no codes, no affiliate links and no casino money.

Who makes money when I use a Stake promo code?

The affiliate whose code it is. Casino affiliates are commonly paid a revenue share, often 25 to 50% of what the players they send in lose, for as long as those players keep playing.

What is a wagering requirement?

It's how much you have to bet before bonus money can be withdrawn. In a made-up example, a $100 bonus with a 40x requirement means betting $4,000. If the games keep about 4% of what you bet, that's about $160 in expected losses to unlock $100.

Is Stake licensed in Canada?

As of October 31, 2026, Stake.com isn't licensed in Ontario. In Alberta, a separate site, Stake.ca, has been licensed by the AGLC since October 2026. Everywhere else in Canada, Stake.com runs offshore from Curaçao.
